TOBY, Inc., a biotechnology company developing non-invasive disease detection technologies, announced the appointment of David A. Joseph to its Board of Directors.
Joseph is a C-level executive with extensive experience leading finance, operations, strategy, strategic partnerships, sales, and mergers and acquisitions at growth-stage technology companies and public companies. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of The Princeton Review.
Previously, Joseph served as Chief Financial Officer of Cornelis Networks, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company spun out of Intel. During his tenure, he raised growth capital, helped restructure and scale operations, and built IPO-ready finance, human resources, and legal functions.
Earlier in his career, Joseph served as Chief Financial Officer and Board Secretary of AVENU Learning, where he helped raise equity financing and scale the company, organically and through acquisitions and investments, to more than 20,000 students across four continents. Prior to AVENU, he had founded Hatch Group, an investment and advisory firm focused on scaling technology companies, and held senior leadership roles at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, eBay, Audible, and Morgan Stanley.
Across his career, Joseph has raised more than $400 million in private capital and helped execute public-market transactions involving billions of dollars through IPOs and secondary offerings.
As a member of the TOBY Board, Joseph will advise the company on capital strategy, operating scale, corporate development, strategic partnerships, governance, and long-term value creation as TOBY advances the clinical validation, regulatory development, and commercialization of i urine-based disease-detection platform.

Joseph holds a Master of International Affairs, with a concentration in International Finance and Business, from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from New York University.
